MINERVA, Ohio – September 15, 2025 – Superintendent Mark Scott of Minerva Local Schools announced today that the district has received the prestigious Ohio Auditor of State Award. This honor recognizes the district's excellence in financial reporting and compliance for the fiscal year 2024.
The award was presented to Treasurer Ashley Beaumariage and her team, assistants Emily Winter and Mandy Mitchell, for their outstanding and transparent accounting practices.
"We have earned this honor several times, but it should not be taken for granted, as less than 8% of Ohio agencies that are eligible receive this award," said Superintendent Scott. "The citizens of Minerva are well served by your outstanding leadership and practices!"
A Mark of Distinction
The Auditor of State Award is presented to entities that meet the criteria of a “clean” audit report. This means the audit report contains no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, or significant deficiencies. It also signifies that the district uses high ethical standards and best practices in its financial operations.
"Congratulations to Treasurer Beaumariage and her team for outstanding leadership," Superintendent Scott added. "At Minerva Local Schools, we continue to implement best practices and be great stewards of the resources that are entrusted to us. Ashley and her team represent our community with outstanding leadership and care."
Treasurer Ashley Beaumariage accepted the award on behalf of her department. "We are very proud and honored to receive the Auditor of State Award," she stated. "This is a team effort, and we are very excited to continue to work towards this goal every year."
Dawn Baker, the Ohio Auditor of State East Region Liaison, officially presented the award.

This morning, Minerva High School students led a moving assembly to honor the memory of the lives lost on September 11, 2001. The entire student body gathered to pay tribute and express their gratitude to all first responders, law enforcement, and military personnel who dedicate their lives to keeping us safe.
The Minerva Chamber Choir and the MHS Band delivered outstanding patriotic performances that resonated throughout the auditorium. Mrs. Julie Holderbaum shared a heartwarming message, recounting her own experience as a teacher on that fateful day and expressing profound gratitude for the brave men and women who serve our communities and nation.
Mr. Kyle Lucas and the Minerva FFA also played a significant role in the assembly, leading patriotic readings and moments of remembrance. The student-led initiative was a powerful demonstration of respect and a testament to the enduring spirit of unity and patriotism. #MinervaPride
